Musical-Schmiss ins Staatstheater brachte. Was für eine großartig neue
*Willis-Formation": surreal, zart und brutal real zugleich.
Bühnenbildner Conor Murphy schuf dieses Meisterwerk an schlichter
Eleganz. Ungemein geschmeidig ohne Anbiederung erleben wir auch die
selbstbewusst-dynamische Musik-Collage (Sam Auinger / Claas Willeke)
samt Live-Passagen."
Saarbrücker Zeitung, Cathrin Elss-Seringhaus, 30.01.2006
Lebendig, mitreißend, emotional - großartig!"
Saartext, Sandra Schick, 31.01.2006
Giselle Reloaded tells a story of the trials and tribulations of love
and of social differences. It switches between different music and dance
styles in a breath-taking rhythm and yet seems never overloaded, remains
always comprehensible.
SR 3 Saarlandwelle, Simone Mir Haschemi, 29.01.2006
Marguerite Donlon's radically earthed "Giselle" swept the audience
off their feet and unchained frenetic applause on Saturday. With its
Irish tap dance sequences it brought live into the Saarbrücker
Staatstheater."
The audience consumed Donlon's piece like a yogurt
praliné...heavenly sweet."
What an amazing new Willis-line-up: surreal, tender and yet brutal at
the same time."
After Giselle breaks down with grief, she starts hallucinating: hey
stacks begin to float, horse stables become a metallic labyrinth. Stage
designer Conor Murphy created that masterpiece of simple elegance."
The self-confident and dynamic musical collage by Claas Willeke and
Sam Auinger is very sleek and flexible without being too pleasing *
including the portions of live music.
Giselle (Youn Hui Jeon), fragile nature, delicate grace, full of
dignity in her despair * an ideal dancer for that role. Thanks to Youn
Hui Jeon, longing and tenderness turn into the central theme. How to
stroke a feather? Raphale Saada (in the role of Albrecht) develops more
into a player, rather than into a possessive owner. For him and his
Giselle, Donlon created some awesome Pas de deux."
Saarbrücker Zeitung, Cathrin Elss-Seringhaus, 30.01.2006
Full of life, passionate, emotional * simply fantastic!"
